I have been an athlete all my life, and I could never look the part. I rowed as a DI rower, I ran marathons and ultra marathons, yet I was still “pudgy.” Then I found heavy lifting and CrossFit and was amazed at how some women and men looked. They were so muscular, lean, and toned. I thought as long as I worked hard and ate “clean,” I would look just like them. I put in so much work and pushed myself every time I went to the box. I looked much better, but I still looked soft.
Then I got a nutrition coach and, slowly but surely, my view of food changed. I could eat things that made me happy, and I started looking like I actually did something athletic. I had a solid educational base when it came to nutrition: Paleo, Zone, Atkins, everything! There was a missing link, though, and once I saw it, I realized that I could help a lot of people.
